7:42pm: Potty training
In case you didn't already know, I've started potty training the boys. I describe it a bit in [info]eowynarwen

For those that think I'm crazy or that Rourke should have his head examined, I give you the following Infant Potty Training article.  Where more and more people are starting to say that "starting after 6 months is starting late."

5:16pm: Schedule
So Daddy and others can know, their feeding schedule for now is...
500, 730, 1000, 1230, 1500, 1730, 2000, 2230
2:03pm: Well, the boys are now getting quite big (compared to what they started as). Tristan is now 5 lb 14 oz and Christain is 7 lb 14 oz. They're both pretty happy. Of course as soon as I tell people that, they pick THAT moment to fuss. C'est la vie, et cetera. They got one shot yesterday, I turned down the rest as unnecessary.

6:12pm: movement
Tristan is an active little guy. Every chance he gets he rolls around, and if I put my hand or foot by his feet he presses against it and scoots around until he's completely off the blanket and on straight carpet.

I used the post office scale to weigh them today, and Christian was 6 lbs 4 oz, and Tristan was 4 lbs 8 oz. Yea growth!

4:53pm: Rolling Over
Guess who rolled over today? Tristan. And this time I saw the signs beforehand and got out the video camera and caught it on tape. AND he did it repeatedly, unlike his brother the week before. Now I'll have to be extra encouraging to Christian to get him to roll over for the camera. This is exciting. Not quite one month old and they've both rolled over. That's something that half of four month olds can do, and these guys were premies!

7:05pm: New Weight!!
I took the boys in for a check-up today. Christian didn't gain much weight in the last week, but he's still 5 lbs 12 oz now. Tristan did the leaps and bounds. He now weighs 4 lbs 3 oz. Woooo Hoooo!

29th March 2006

10:10pm: stroller
The stroller arrived yesterday. Very exciting. And tomorrow, it will be used for the first time as I take the boys to their next doctor's appointment. Their check-up should go well, though I'm anxious to see how much each of them gained. Tristan is filling out nicely. He looks a little less like a baby bird, and more like a baby boy. I'll be sure and write what the doc says tomorrow. Oh, and daddy, make sure you MAKE TAPES and SEND THEM BACK so the boys don't get scared when they hear you after you come home. We need them to be familiar with your voice. Read a book or something. I'll send you kid books if you want them. Just send me your voice. Please.

2:54pm: Rolling over
Christian rolled over today. I was giving him some tummy time while I was watching a movie, and I looked down just in time to see him flipping onto his back. I got the video camera out right away to try and record it to send to Daddy, but he wouldn't do it again. I think he was a little worn out. I have high hopes of him doing it again next time he gets the opportunity though, so hopefully I'll have something to send soon.

11:02am: Home!
We're home! We got home yesterday about noon. Here's a picture of us in our new playpen.

7:30pm: Coming Home!
We just found out that we'll be coming home Sunday or Monday. Yea! The only prescription they're wanting to put us on is iron, so that's good. We're looking forward to actually bedding together again. After sharing space for almost 9 months, it's hard to be so far away from each other.

We're halfway through The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We can't wait to find out what happens next. We like to listen to mommy read. We eat better and fuss less that way.

Well, we'll have to write more later. We need to start getting ready for mommy to come visit us and take more pictures. We need to make sure we look extra cute for daddy. Maybe he'll even write to us so mommy can read us something from him soon.

Cheers.

5:49pm: Events of the day
I (Christian) got to wear my first real clothes today. The nurses didn't tell my mommy ahead of time otherwise it would be my own clothes I'm wearing, but there is plenty of time for that in the future.

My current doctor, Dr. Pascal, wrote the order for me to nipple feeds as tolerated. Which means I get the chance to eat from mommy or a bottle every feeding now. Once it gets established, I get to go home. YEA! I'm now a little over 5 pounds (5lb 1oz) and I'm just going to grow from there.

My brother is 4lbs 6oz and once Dr. Woods comes back tomorrow, he should be almost caught up with me in the journey home. His isolette is already down to the temperature to put him in an open crib, but the doctor changed his mind and said he wanted him to get to 1600g before he moves out. I'm looking forward to Dr. Woods coming back, because then I'll get to share a crib with my brother instead of being off by myself.

Mommy read the first 2 chapters of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to us today. I wonder what's going to happen next. Maybe we'll get to hear more over supper tonight.

Well, that's all for now.

6:01pm: Hello? Is anyone out there?
Hey, we just want to say hello to our mommy and daddy and anyone else who would happen to be interested in our lives. Pictures of our adorable little selves will be coming soon, as our mommy and even our daddy (hint, hint) choose to update our blog. And someday, we just might start blogging ourselves!
